The moment when Jake heard the song had to be special and dramatic. Abel would have been able to bend him to do the Volturi's doing if Edward hadn't composed his song so passionately.

Jake outwitted the vampires, and between the pack and the Cullens, the Volturi were done. Their powerful weapons couldn't deal with Jake and Edward's mind link.

Seth is hurt, but he's being taken care of by Esmée and Jasper. Alice is not amused at all :) Abel got what he so richly deserved.

Alice may be trying Jasper's patience too much.
