100 things...A song that makes you sad

When I listened to "The three bells" for the first time, the melody struck me as wistful. The first verses seemed cheerful enough: Someone is born and then marries, the church bells toll and things were okay; but then the final part kicked in and i was like o_O

I don't like the death of a viewpoint character, even in a song. I hate it when it happens in a fic or  movie I'm invested in (I'm looking at you, Wachowskis ;)

That's why I tend to end the fics where I do. In my mind their adventures continue, but i don't want to do a long fic from the 'cradle to the grave.' (with the exception of 'Twin story' but the plot bunny wanted it so :)

I love Roy Orbison and his sad melancholic songs!I know him and his music through my parents, but soon became kind of a 'fan' myself.

This is a really sad song and his unique voice is a big part of what make's certain songs send chills down your spine and makes you want to cry!

Same here! You already know I don't read 'main charachter death'fics, and I hate it in movies as well,I always end up with the feeling I waisted my time!!!

I'm glad about that otherwise I wouldn't be able to read them:)

He had a great voice and wrote awesome songs, like Blue Bayou!

Every time I hear Orbison's 'Crying' I do feel like crying. Same with Patsy Cline's 'Crazy.'

You get into the character's head and want him or her to succeed and get something good out of their tribulations. Instead they die and you feel cheated and kind of down :(

When I write a fic, the plot won't allow me to do certain things. Killing my heroes is not my stuff; the plot roughing them up a bit, fine, but only that!

Yeah,Blue Bayou is a beautiful song ,and one I've liked since childhood!

I have that with 'Leah' and 'It's over'

Especially fic's leave me with a bad/sad feeling,I mean they are my favorite boys!!!(you want them happy! Not Dead!!!!:(

That's why I can safely enjoy anything that happens;D

It's a slow song which just moves you.

Orbison was a very gifted songwriter and singer.

It's awful when they are long stories, filled with awful things happening to one of them. I get it that there must be drama, but this relentless need to punish him is offputting!! :(

I empathize with them and it makes me shy away from certain things. There's still plenty of drama though, and I'm not above smacking them upside their heads, repeatedly :DDD
