Paul is a werewolf and therefore she should have broken something. Meyer wanted us to sympathize with 'poor Bella' and how the Ice Queen from hell suffers when Jake kisses her.
There's no way I'm ever reading Breaking dawn. I may skim some parts for research but that's all. *fuming at Meyer*
