"Malfoy, I don't think you're up to the challenges of working in the field," said Dawlish, eyeing speculatively the blond Auror.
"Why? I've proved myself; I can master all the spells I was taught in training." Draco fidgeted on the edge of the chair. He wanted to catch the Death Eaters remnants. More than that, he yearned for the easy familiarity he'd observed amongst seasoned Aurors, plus something special.
"You can't cast a Patronus, which is the standard form of communication."
"I'll learn! I just need the right teacher!" said Draco, "Proudfoot was a cretin!"
"Perhaps Potter can help you."

"Draco, you've got to concentrate!" Harry stood behind the slim blond, trying not to touch the silky hair or the smooth, alabaster cheeks. Though an excellent teacher, Harry hadn't dealt with the problem of having a crush on a trainee.
"What shall I do, Harry?" drawled Draco, and his smooth voice did not assuage Harry's troubles; in fact, it multiplied them.
"Think about your happiest memory."
"My life isn't filled with happiness. I tried to tell Proudfoot this." Draco shivered when Harry put his hand over his.
Malfoy mumbled, "Bloody ignored everything I said. Proudfoot a good teacher, my foot!"

Harry sipped his firewhiskey, trying not to stare too blatantly at his partner. Draco had spent hours trying to cast his Patronus, in vain. The blond was dishevelled and sweaty from the effort. It was all Harry could do not to snog him.
Draco downed his drink, smirking at his tutor. "Kneazle got your tongue, Harry?"
Harry blinked owlishly at him and when Draco wiggled his eyebrows in that particular way, he couldn't contain himself any longer. He reached across the table and kissed those pouty lips.
After their heated snogging, Harry said, "I reckon it'll help with your Patronus."

Draco mussed his hair. "I can't cast it!"
He scowled at Harry. "That trick with the kiss didn't help!"
Harry shuffled his feet and frowned at Draco. "Guess Proudfoot kissing you would've been better!"
Draco crossed his arms. "Are you taking the piss? She looked like a young Umbridge!"
Both Aurors shuddered, then Harry threw his arms up in the air. "Think about something that made you feel complete!"
Draco recalled that moment in the Manor when Harry was at his mercy, and the feelings of protectiveness his distorted visage inspired in him.
"Expecto Patronum!"
He glared at his Patronus.

"Blimey! Malfoy's Patronus is a—"
Ron guffawed loudly; only Hermione elbowing him made him shut up.
"Yes, Weasley," growled Draco, sipping his butterbeer and staring around at the Leaky Cauldron, "my Patronus is a bouquet of lilies and narcissi!"
Hermione covered her mouth with her hands to prevent her giggles whilst Harry stared at Draco like he was everything that mattered. The brunet intertwined his fingers with Draco's, smiling at his boyfriend.
"Well, obviously you feel Lily and Narcissa bless your match," said Hermione diplomatically.
Harry beamed at her and leaned forward to kiss Draco's cheek. "They sure do!"
