Yes, they do. But Bella was testing her awesome powers and saw poor, timid Bambi being accosted by the big, bad, meanie mountain lion. I

Instantly her supermaternal self, which sprouted out of thin air in the same air of OOC that pervades BD, propelled her to act. She rushed to save Bambi, showing she cared so much about nature and stuff, and killed the mountain lion.

I guess the filmmakers, and Meyer, wanted to woo the audience with this slice of caring!Bella... as if...
